Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Coordination Committee (JKCSCC) on Monday appealed the government employees to boycott the upcoming election duty, asking them to go for mass leave on the poll day.
Addressing a presser here in Srinagar, the JKCSCC members including Awami National Conference (ANC) Vice president Muzaffar Shah, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) chairman, Jag Mohan Singh Raina, Advocate Mir Javaid and others appealed the government employees to boycott the elections duties in the interest of people.
“All the employees should go for mass leave on the election day to mark a protest in support of Article 35-A and Article 370, currently subjudice,” Shah told reporters.
Furthermore, Shah appealed the candidates who have filed their forms for the upcoming Municipal polls to withdraw their forms in the interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that people of Kashmir must go for complete boycott of the upcoming elections to send a message that people want a complete security of State Subject Law and special status law.
Shah said that the respective Mohalla committees must keep close vigil on such candidates and should boycott them in every aspect s the candidates who are taking part in the elections are strengthening the hands of RSS-BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that all the packages being utilized by the government in the upcoming elections should have been utilized on the government employees whose salaries are either withheld or being released without the implementation of 7th pay commission.
Advocate Mir Javaid who also spoke on the occasion asked the two regional parties including National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join hands and form the next dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir. “The two parties must join hands to form the government and to fight against the ill designs over Article 35-A and Article 370 in the Supreme Court,” he added.
He said that the parties must keep politics at bay and should join hands.
Raina said that the people of the state want peace to prevail here. “Peace in Jammu and Kashmir is our concern not of other residing outside the state, so we should get united and focus on restoration of peace here,” he said.
Meanwhile, the JKCSCC said that civil society is going to hold roundtable conference in which all the mainstream parties, Civil Societies, Bar Association, trade bodies, NGOs will be invited soon.”We are working on it and the roundtable conference will be held within weeks,” they added.
