Kulgam: As resignation spree following killing of three cops in Shopian on Friday continue, a woman SPO joined the bandwagon in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Sunday.
Identified as Rafeeqa Akhtar wife of Ghulam Mohammed Thokar, a resident of Bongam in Hall area of Kulgam, she, like her several male counterparts, announced to quit the job on internet.
In the video that surfaced on the social networking sites, Akhtar says she has left the police job “without any kind of fear.”
Even though the Union Home Ministry says that no policeman has resigned, videos, announcing resignation, by policemen and SPOs continue to surface on the social networking sites on the third consecutive day after the killing of three policemen in Shopain.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has denied the reports of resignations by policemen and the SPOs and has called the videos a ‘propaganda.’
The resignations came amid Hizbul Mujahidieen commander’s warning to the SPOs and police to resign or face “consequences.”
