KCCI Votes To Elect Executive Committee, Sees 83% Turnout

Srinagar: Members of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) on Saturday voted to elect Executive Committee of the traders’ body. The election saw 83 percent turnout.
The voting for the annual election to the Executive Committee of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) started at 9 a.m. and continued till 4 p.m. at Kashmir Government Arts Emporium Srinagar as per the provision of the Articles of Association of the Chamber.
Of the 1305 members, 1082 (83%) cast their votes personally. The Election process was carried out under overall supervision of the Election Commission of the KCC&I consisting of Rauf Ahmad Punjabi (Chairman), Dr. Mubeen Shah (Member) and Abdul Hamid Punjabi (Member). The Polling for the election was conducted by the Polling Committee consisting Qazi Mohammad Yehya (Chairman), G.M. Dug (Member), Majid Aslam Wafai (Member), Javid Burza (Member), Dr. Abdul Majid (Member), Maqsood Misri (member). The polling process was held in most cordial, peaceful and transparent manner. The process of counting of votes will started and the result of poll shall be announced in the 84th Annual General Meeting of the Chamber scheduled to be held on September 29 at the SKICC Srinagar.
“We at the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry are highly thankful to the management of Kashmir Government Arts Emporium especially the Managing Director, and Police Department,” the traders body said in the statement.
