GOC 14 Corps, DG BSF briefs Governor

Srinagar: Lt. Gen. Y.K. Joshi, GOC 14 Corps and K.K. Sharma, Director General Border Security Force, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Lt. Gen briefed Governor regarding the situation along the LoC and LAC which fall within the Area of Responsibility of this Corps, an official spokesman said.
Governor held detailed discussion with Lt. Gen. regarding issues relating to connectivity and expansion of road network which is required to connect various parts of Ladakh internally and with the plains. GOC also briefed Governor regarding winter preparedness for sectors under his responsibility.
Governor stressed the importance of maintaining a sustained coordination between the Security Forces and the Civil Administration to meet the security challenges in the State.
Meanwhile DG BSF briefed Governor about functioning of the paramilitary force in Jammu and Kashmir and about various issues connected with internal and external security, particularly in the backdrop of the recent spurt in attempts of infiltration from across the IB.
