Anantnag: Anantnag District is facing a major health crises as 15 new tests has been detected positive for hepatitis C from last one week in Uranhal Batengoo Anantnag.

According to an official statement a total number of 169 people were screened in last one week in Uranhal Batengoo Anantnag, 15 among them have tested positive for Hepatatis C and 6 have tested positive for Hepatitis B.

The statement revealed that in year 2018 the health department had started mass screening in Block Larnoo and Block Salar where in Block Larnoo the health department had screened almost 15492 people in which they found 2385 tests positive for Hepatatis B and C. However in Walarhama Salar Pahalgam out 1673, 153 tests found positive. As per the official statement the percentage of positive tests in larnoo is 15.39 percent and Walarhama Salar is 9.14 percent.

The tests were carried out through “card method” and need further investigations by ELISA and HCV RNA to confirm the diagnosis and further treatment. The statement revealed.

INS reported,  in Walarham Pahalgam an outbreak in Walarhama Pahalgam village.

Meanwhile a health official told to INS that the Hepatitis-C and B like situation alarming in south kashmir Anantnag District as number of patients coming everyday from various villages in District Hospital Anantnag.

“The government should take necessary actions against the Disease otherwise the district will become the prone of Hepatitis. Added that people should not be panic about the disease as the health department has already issued an advisory in this regard,”official added.
