Srinagar: Rejecting the rumours that National Conference will forge an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, the NC vice-president Omar Abdullah said this is not happening.

Alleging that there are some old news videos from 2014 that are doing the rounds, trying to suggest that NC is going to support a BJP-led government in J&K, he said this is some psy-ops plan designed to unsettle the NC cadre.

“I understand some old news videos from 2014 are doing the rounds trying to suggest that NC is going to support a BJP lead Govt in J&K. Let me make it very clear – this IS NOT happening. This WILL NOT happen. This is some psy-ops plan designed to unsettle the @JKNC_ cadre,” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, said ordinarily he wouldn’t bother with such stuff, but it seems the videos are being used to unsettle and scare some of his grassroots level workers.

So, he said he would rather nip this mischievous piece of fake news of NC supporting a BJP chief minister in the bud right here and now.

“Ordinarily I wouldn’t bother with such stuff but it seems the videos are being used to unsettle/scare some of my grassroot level workers & so I’d rather nip this mischievous piece of fake news of @JKNC_ supporting a BJP CM in the bud right here & now,” he added.

The Governor’s rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir in June 2018 after BJP pulled out support from PDP-led government in the state, forcing Mehbooba Mufti to resign as the chief minister.
