Kulgam: Nocturnal raids were conducted by government forces in Ghat area of Redwani in Quimoh belt of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district late night on Thursday.

Sources said that the forces entered in the Redwani and Rehpora villages of Quimoh belt and arrested two youth during the raids conducted during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

One of the youth has been identified as Fayaz Donoo (setha) son of Bashir Donoo, a resident of Ghat area in Quimoh.

A Local from Ghat told to media that Fayaz is a labourer and has no involvement in stone pelting or any Anti India activity.

“All the youth from the area ran for cover and came out of their houses when troops raided the locality,” he said.

He added that nocturnal raids in the locality have become a routine, more than 60 youth from the Quimoh belt are languishing in jails for months.
