TRAL: The farmers in many areas of Pulwama district’s Tral area have complained of heavy loss due to rice blast disease.
The farmers said that they are worried and asked the concerned department to intervene to reduce losses.
The disease has hit the crops in Nahir, Khasipora and Chatrogam areas of Tral, leaving the farmers dismayed.
“We suffered losses due to the disease in paddy. We are very much worried as it will reduce rice production in the area this year,” a farmer said.
The farmers appealed concerned authorities to intervene personally into the matter.
Despite several attempts, officials of agriculture department couldn’t be contacted for comment.
