Officials said that a joint team of army and SOG in wee hours on Sunday cordoned off the village of Imamsahab following specific information about the presence of some militants.

The militants, they said, believed to be two to three in number, opened fire, triggering off a brief firefight. After initial firing, there is lull and the officials did not rule out possibility of militants having escaped from the spot even as searches in the area were going when this report was filed. As usual, authorities snapped internet in the entire south Kashmir district.
