‘No date fixed for hearing on pleas against Article 35A, could be heard on August 27’

Srinagar: No date yet has been fixed by the Apex court to hear the pleas, challenging Article 35A of the Indian constitution of India which among others give exclusive rights to a citizen of Jammu and Kashmir to own the property in the State.

According to a statement by the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Coordination Committee(JKCSCC), a team of Lawyers in the Supreme court, appointed by it, have informed at 4.00 pm that the case regarding 35A is not listed in the main causelist issued by the Supreme Court registry. “It is also informed that regular supplementary cause list will be issued on 25th August evening so it is not clear yet whether the case will come up on 27th or not . It will be clear only when the supplementary list of the Supreme Court is issued on 25th evening,” it said.
