Srinagar: The Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Sunday extended its greetings to Imran Khan Niazi for becoming the 22nd Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

In a statement issued here, the lawyers body expressed hope that the new government of Pakistan under his leadership would continue to support the legitimate cause of the people of Kashmir in realizing their inalienable right of self-determination, promised to them by both Pakistan and India at the world fora, in terms of various United Nation Security Council Resolutions which are awaiting implementation for the last 70 years

The High Court Bar Association also strongly condemns the beating of dozens of people by the government forces, vandalizing their houses, smashing window panes and damaging their cars, tractors, JCB’s parked outside their houses.

In a statement  issued here, the Bar also condemned arresting of three “innocent” youth namely Fasil Bashir, Fasil Nazir and Muneeb Ahmad from village Bhan of District Kulgam during night hours.

The lawyers body also described the same as a worst kind of “brutality of which notice should be taken by the human rights council of the United Nations and other bodies and pressure should be put on India to stop these human rights violations in Kashmir and settle the Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people to establish peace and stability in the sub-continent.
