Shutdown in Shopian continues against ‘disappearance’ of youth

Pulwama:  Tral town is observing shutdown against arrest of arrest of at least a dozen people, including close relatives of a few active militants by the government forces. The detentions were triggered after a special police officer (SPO)  was attacked by suspected militants last week.

Shops and commercial establishments remained closed and thin movement of public transport was observed in Tral.

According to locals government forces carried out raids, nocturnal at times in Monghama, Gulshanpora, Ameerabad, Jageer and Sherabad villages and detained relatives of Hizb militants including Hammad Khan and Adfar Adil.
