Tral: Rainfall during night has inundated Bilal-abad area of Tral in South Kashmir, creating problems for locals particularly school going students.
Locals said that they were facing inconveniences due to lack of drainage facilities and whenever it rains, the area gets waterlogged.
A local Abdul Majeed told INS that people are suffering and authorities fail to address the issue despite being acquainted about it umpteen times.
“Not only authorities, we also requested MLA Tral to intervene but no avail,” the locals added.
Executive Officer Municipal committee Tral, Mohammad Ismail, when contacted, told INS that, they are getting less funds from higher authorities, due to which department was unable to undertake all the works in the town at a time.
He said that urban areas are getting less funds as compared to rural areas and assured that once the funds are received, work shall be instantly started in the area to mitigate the problems of people.
