J&K Accounts Employees Association threaten indefinite strike if demands not accepted, lock down offices for day

Anantnag : The J&K Accounts employees Association Monday locked down district treasuries pressing government to accept the multiple demands put forth by them. The employees have threatened that if their demands are not accepted in earnest they will go on indefinite strike.

The association observed a one day strike call was observed through out the state of Jammu and Kashmir including, all the treasuries including Civil Secretariat Treasury, Sadder Treasury Srinagar and Jammu. All the District and Muffasil Treasuries observed complete lock down.

“No transaction could take place anywhere,” protesting employees said.

The JKAEA impressed upon authorities to address their demands at an earliest lest State vide indefinite strike, protest will be held. The onus of which shall squarely lie on the Authorities.

Employee’s demands include De-linking of KAS from Accounts Service, Maintenance of 50:50 promotion quota at all levels, Restoration of pay parity with Indian Audit & Accounts Service, Career Assured Progress Scheme for accounts Personnel, Cadre Review, Increasing the quota of selection scale to WOW: & reducing the qualifying service to 03 years in favour of Accounts officers (Rank & file), Advance increment for qualifying SAC~l & SAC ll , Relaxation of qualification bar in respect of the compassionate appointees under SRO 43, and Amendments in SRO 78.

“We appeal governor to personally intervene in this matter, so that we have a sigh of relief,” they said.
