Pampore: Police has refuted claims that there was a weapon snatching bid at Khrew area of Pampore on Friday.

“It was just a scuffle between bank guard and two persons,” a police official wishing anonymity said.

He said that two persons had beaten the bank guard in which he was injured.

DySP Pampore Reyaz Ahmad said some goons attacked bank guard and were carrying chilly powder.

“I don’t think it was a riffle snatching attempt,” Ahmad said.

Police have taken up the investigation and reason behind scuffle is being ascertained.
