Srinagar: Fifth militant has been killed by government forces in a gunfight that erupted yesterday in rafiabad area of baramulla district, police said on Thursday.

“5th Terrorists fired in the morning & was neutralised soon after,” DGP S P Vaid tweeted.

Four militants were killed earlier in an encounter that started on Wednesday at Vigi Rafiabad, Sopore, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the army said.

Army’s 32 RR and 9 Para commandos launched the operation after inputs about militants presence and as they reached the area, militants fired upon them, resulting in a gunfight, the official sources said.
