Two militants killed in Khumriyal Kupwara

Srinagar: Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter between militants and government forces at Khumriyal area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

 According to officials the joint team of SOG and army launched a search operation in Khumriyal and as they approached the suspected spot the militants opened fire triggering off a gunfight.

Officials confirmed killing of two militants and sources inside police told INS that the duo are believed to be locals but only after final authentication they will verify it. 

Both the bodies have been been recovered, while the the operation is ongoing. 

 Pertinently, unknown persons on Tuesday overpowered a policeman and decamped with his INSAS rifle at Kandhar area of Maidanpora Lolab
