Students study on roadside after land donor locks school in Tral village

Tral : Students in Karmulla village of Tral are studying on roadside after school building was locked down by land donor on Tuesday. The students are studying on roadside, in an open field.

Headmaster, Mohd Hussain Baba, said that school building was locked by land donor on Monday. “He accused the education department of not fulfilling demands as assured to him thirteen years back in 2005, when the school was constructed,” Baba said.

Land donor Manzoor Ahmad Lone claimed, they were promised one family member will be given permanent job.

“Either authorities compensates us or permanent job is provided to one of our family members,” Lone said.

Incharge Zonal Educational officer Tral, Ghulam Mohammad Kumar, told INS that, they have already taken the cognizance of matter.

“The issue is being resolved,” Kumar claimed.

He further said that two persons are already working on casual basis from the said family as cook, and assistant cook in the said school while as one of their relatives is working as night chowkidar.

“We have already sent a notice to our superiors regarding the demands of land donor. They will take further steps in this regard,” Kumar said.
