Religious seminary gutted in north Kashmir

Kupwara: An Islamic seminary was gutted in north Kashmir’s frontier district Kupwara on Sunday evening.

The fire started from one of the rooms of the said Darul uloom at about 11 40 pm during the intervening night of 29 / 30 July.

“As the word of fire spread all men women especially youth came out of their homes and tried their best to control the fierce fire which was later on doused by fire tenders from Kralgund and Nearby Handwara,” reports said.
However fire tenders took time in reaching the spot which resulted in the huge loss to the Darul uloom pertinently more than thirty students mostly orphans and poor students are enrolled in this seminary school who get free of cost Quranic education .

“Every year many students did Hafiz e Quran from this Islamic Seminary School which was Established in early 2000s .Right from day one this Darul uloom is running on donations and other funds given and collected by locals and is taken utmost care of the students enrolled in it,” reports said.
