Kulgam: A complete shutdown is being observed in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, where three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces on Sunday
All shops, business establishments, banks and petrol pumps are closed while public transport is off the roads, Monday. CRPF and police have been deployed in sensitive areas to foil any protests by the locals against the killing of militants.
LeT militants Suhail Ahmad Dar of Redwini Balaa, Mudassir Ahmad alias Rehaan of Katrasoo and Abu Muawiya, a Pakistani national were killed in a fierce encounter with government forces in Khodweni area of the district on Sunday morning. Police claimed the trio were involved in abduction and killing of a police constable Muhammad Saleem Shah.
