Srinagar: South Kashmir Transporters Association on Sunday called for a complete shutdown on May 14 in South Kashmir against “exploitative” toll collection by National Highways Authority of India at Sangam Bhijbhera in Annatnag district.
The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting in which members of all the transporters association participated, reads a statement issued by the Association. “In wake of the ongoing holy month of Ramazan, we decided to call for day’s strike only and if the government failed to do away with the levying of toll on all locals in entire Kashmir and not those putting up within 20 kilometers radius of the Toll Plaza, we will go for indefinite strike,” the Association said.
