Handwara Police seizes huge consignment of illegal diesel

Srinagar: Handwara Police  caught Beacon officials  red handed while smuggling diesel in black market.

Police spokesman said that a police team of Police station Qalamabad headed by SHO Qalamabad Ab Ahad intercepted a Beacon vehicle after getting an input that diesel was illegally transported in the vehicle.

“After checking the vehicle No 11E 71746 of Beacon 99 RCC Nogam driven by Mohd Subhan lone R/O Kitchhama Bala 1200 lits of diesel (6 barrels) were found with out proper documents.On this veh /diesel were seized,” he said.

SDPO Handwara Shabir Khan said that we were getting inputs many times that such type of activities were carried out by Beacon people.

“We have seized the vehicle, illegal consignment and have also arrested the driver.”

When asked if there is more such illegal consignment in godowns of Beacon, Khan said” That is a matter of investigation, we will touch this angle also, we will also look into how many people are involved in it”.

Subsequently an FIR no 54/2018 US 409 RPC and 12 Petroleum Act was lodged at PS Qalamabad.
