He said that 1075 yatris left Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 2:30 am in 43 vehicles for Baltal route while 1973 yatris left for Pahalgam route at 3:35 am in 69 vehicles.

“However, a bus headed for Baltal developed a snag at Nagrota due to which 62 yatries had to return to the base camp,” said the official.

Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) official said over 1,65,000 pilgrims have so far performed the pilgrimage that started on June 28.

The yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 26 coinciding with ‘Raksha Bandhan’ festival.
