Prioritise the finalisation of pending enquiries: Governor tells Director Vigilance

Srinagar: S. J. M Gillani, Director Vigilance, met Governor N.N. Vohra, at the Civil Secretariat today.

Gillani apprised Governor about the present status of the work being done by the State Vigilance Organization; the pendency of cases; reasons for delay in the finalization of enquiries and the lodging of Challans; prolonged delays for conclusion of proceedings in the Trial Courts; inadequacy of staff in the Prosecution Offices of the recently created Anti Corruption Courts etc.

        Governor advised  Gillani to prioritise the finalisation of pending enquiries and launch a vigorous campaign for the offenders to be brought to book, the cases of higher level functionaries being taken up among the first lot. Governor   asked Director Vigilance to send him a monthly progress report.
