Pulwama: A firefight between holed up militants and government forces is underway at Chatpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

Police sources confirmed that contact between forces and militants has been made and gunfire is being exchanged.

Earlier a joint team of army’s 55 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation following specific information about the presence of some militants at Thamuna village adjacent to Chatpora near main town Pulwama.
