Day 2: Search for the drowned teacher in Ganderbal intensified, police, SDRF, volunteers on job

Ganderbal: The body of the lady teacher who drowned in Nallah Sindh in Ganderbal on Wednesday is yet to be retrieved as officials and volunteers stepped up the search in waters on Thursday.

Locals said that Police, SDRF team and many locals have joined the search operations to retrieve the body of the teacher.

picnic of a school turned into tragedy after a lady teacher identified as  Kulsuma Rashid Daughter of Abdul Rashid Bhat drowned in Nallah Sindh near Hung park area of gangarhama district Ganderbal on Wednesday.

SHO Gund Syed Arif said that: A female teacher working in private school star land at Badampora Ganderbal drowned in Nallah Sindh. She was on picnic with his school and are capturing the photos and accidentally drowned in Nallah Sindh.

He also said that the deceased lady is still missing and police on job efforts are on to trace him.

Family of the deceased had protested last night against district authorities that none have visited the place except SHO.

Early morning Thursday Police resumed its operations along with others and SDM too visited the place.

Volunteers have divided water stretches among themselves and are searching for the body, locals said adding that they are only assisting administration to find the body of the teacher.
