Delhi must shun its rigid approach: Hurriyat Conference (M)

Srinagar: It’s high time that New Delhi must shun its rigid approach, Hurriyat Conference (M) said on Wednesday as it paid rich tributes to the three armed youth Danish Khalid, Adil Ahmed and Qasim killed in an encounter with government forces at Nazineenpora Tral.
In a statement issued here, the amalgam said that the Kashmiri youth are sacrificing their lives for a great and sacred cause and it’s the utmost duty of people to remain steadfast.
The amalgam said that to break the resolve of people of Kashmir and resistance leadership, every tool was being employed by Delhi and its supporters in Kashmir. The Hurriyat Conference (M) said every day, Kashmir witnesses dance of death in every village and street where in young boys are “martyred” selectively in forces action. The Hurriyat Conference (M) urged people to remain steadfast and to stay united till the final goal is achieved.
The Hurriyat Conference (M) said that it was because of the stubborn approach of New Delhi that Kashmir issue continues to lingering as a result the Kashmir dispute may take an ugly turn in the years ahead. It said that it’s high time that Delhi must shun its rigid approach and take concrete steps for the resolution of the vexed dispute so that peace prevails not just in the sub-continent but in entire South Asia.
The Hurriyat Conference strongly condemned the arrest of a pro-freedom activist of Kishtwar district of Jammu Abdul Qayoom Matoo and eight other persons and slapping them with the draconian PSA. It said such repressive measures can’t force people of J&K into submission.
Meanwhile, a Hurriyat spokesman expressed a deep sorrow and grief over the demise of writer and intellectual Ghulam Nabi Gowhar of Kralapora Budgam, stating that the deceased has contributed a lot on social and literature front and his contributions will be remembered for a long. The spokesman termed the death of Gowhar as a big loss for the social and literary circles of Kashmir.
