Government forces swarm Bandipora forests in search of militants

Bandipora: Government forces on Monday resumed its chase of hiding militants in Raynar Forest of Panar area of Bandipora District in Northern Kashmir.

The operation is in its second day and initial reports say that two army personnel have been injured as they came under heavy gunfire inside woods. The forest area is swarming with government forces including 13RR and SOG wing of J&K police. More forces are rushed to the spot, sources said.

According to sources a group of militants is believed to be hiding in the forests.

Pertinent to Mention here that CASO was launched in the area on Saturday after brief exchange of gunfire with forces in Raynar Forest.

Another sources in the counter insurgency grid however denied confirming the contact between them and militants.

Official confirmation is awaited.
