Militants, forces exchange gunfire in Langate

Srinagar: Militants and government forces exchanged gunfire at  Shiltheria area of Haril Langate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on wee hours of Friday.

According to initial reports Army’s 30 RR had cordoned off Dobimohalla Haril after receiving information about the presence of militants.

Sources said that as the government forces reached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired on them from automatic rifles.

Gunshots are not being heard for some time now, sources said.

Official version of the operation is awaited as GoI has announces cessation of operation for month of Ramadan.
