Three militants killed in Machil Sector

Srinagar: Army has claimed to have killed three militants in north Kashmir’s Machhil Sector on Wednesday.

Army said that the three were gunned down after they tried to cross over to this side along the Line of Control (LoC).

Valley based Army spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said that  “three militants have been killed, the infiltration bid foiled by the security forces on wednsday morning, Searches are  on in the area.”
“Early Wednesday morning some suspicious movement was felt along LOC at Machhal sector, about five To six militants where trying to sneak this side of border, acting swiftly security forces fired upon them resulting in brief gunfight between militants and security forces,” said SSP Kupwara Shri Ram Ambedkar Dinkar.

Army last month claimed to have killed five militants and dubbed them as in identified and foreign. Almost a week after their pictures became public two families from south Kashmir claimed that two among them are their kin.

On June 5 their bodies were exhumed and handed over their families.
