Police seeks public help in tracing the suspected thief

Sriangar: Jammu and Kashmir Police seek the help of the general public to identify a suspected thief wanted by Bagiyas police post in a theft case.

“On May 29, one person namely Ghulam Ahmad Chattabali son of Muhammad Ramzan Chattabali of Nalband Pora Chattabal reported to police post Bagiyas (Jurisdiction of police station Safakadal) Srinagar with a written application to the effect that he was travelling on May 28 in a local minibus from Kaksarai to Daresh Kadal and when he de-boarded from the minibus, he found his wallet missing which contained cash amount 33,700 and cheque of amount 19000,” the police spokesman in a statement said.

“To his surprise cheque which was due on May 30 was en-cashed on May 28 from JK Bank Magam Branch,”a spokesman said.

In this regard, CCTV footage was obtained from the concerned JK Bank Branch.

On this application, an FIR was registered and the investigation was taken up.

The name of the person providing any clue or information regarding the suspected thief will be kept secret, the spokesman said.
