HSHS: Street vendors protest, 3 attempt suicide

Srinagar: Three street vendors of Hari Singh High Street attempted suicide by jumping into river Jhelum on Saturday while protesting against Governments move to evict them from roads.

The trio were quickly save by other people and were rushed to SMHS for medical attention.

Protesting street vendors have been asked by the the traffic department and Srinagar Muncipal Corporation to vacate the footpaths.

“Let government provide us some alternative place in the city where we can earn livelihood or they should stop playing a cruel joke with us,” the protesting vendors said.
