Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday termed the fasting month of Ramazan full of blessings and provides a chance to the faithful to help poor, destitute downtrodden people.
He said that holy month provides a great opportunity for the believers to get closer to Almighty Allah and to seek his forgiveness.
Addressing an impressing gathering at Jamia Ahlihadith Wanganpora Eidgah, in connection with the Ashra-e-Rehmat (first ten days of Ramazan), he said Ramazan doesn’t only mean to avoid eating foot from dawn to dusk but also to introspect and to follow the same path in rest of the 11 months of the and year.
MIrwaiz said that the sacred month provides a great chance to the believers to know their responsibilities towards religion and also to their society. The month, he said, teaches brotherhood, harmony and unity to face the challenges in the society collectively to ensure a constructive society.
Throwing light on the basic concept of fasting, Mirwaiz said that the month teaches believers Taqwa and guidesua to fight temptation. He said the great month also provides a chance to the faithful to help poor, destitute and downtrodden people and to earn a great reward here and hereafter.
