Srinagar: Ahead of Lal chowk chalo call given by Joint Resistance Leadership in wake of Indian prime Minster Narendra Modis visit to state of Jammu and Kashmir authorities on Saturday sealed the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar to foil the protest march.

Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have jointly called for “Lal Chowk Challo” to protest against the PM Modi’s state visit.
Forces have erected barbed barricades on all the roads leading to Lal Chowk and a large contingent of police and forces have been deployed to keep the people away.
Authorities have also imposed strict restrictions in old city areas of the Srinagar, local sources said.
PM Modi is scheduled to reach Srinagar during his day long visit to the state.
