Tourists having tough time as Police barricades Dalgate road

Srinagar: Tourists are having a tough time near Dalgate as police has barricaded the road going towards boulevard.

Chaos erupted at Dalgate as police is not letting any vehicle pass towards dalgate.

 

Tourists negotiating with police officers to let them pass. However all the pleas have been rejected. While some left on foot.

“Long queue of tourist vehicle could be seen asking police to let them pass as they have prior booking,” local said.

According to eye witnesses police and commuters had a face off as police suddenly reached the spot and blocked roads and stopped traffic.

According to police men on duty, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to visit the state tomorrow, ‘may be thats why we are ordered to stop the traffic’.

“We are following orders,” A policeman told an angry commuter.

Eye witnesses said that even tourists were shocked to know that they will have to walk instead to using their cars.

“This is mess. They claim that we want tourists to enjoy valley. is this the way,” a visibly angry tourist lady told policemen blocking the road.
