Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea, challenging appointment of S P Vaid as Director General of Police.
A division bench of Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey and Justice M K Hanjura had reserved the judgment after hearing the parties in March this year and announced the verdict today.
S K Mishra, a senior police officer presently posted as chairman cum managing director Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation had approached the High Court, had challenged Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) order, dismissing his application against Vaid’s appointment as the top police officer of the state.
Mishra had sought directions for quashing CAT decision, and had prayed for appointment as the DGP.
Mishra had submitted that the CAT has erred in holding that his case was considered by the cabinet and the guidelines of the apex court were violated.
