Drabgam village is 10 km away from district headquarter and is one of the important village of pulwama.

In 2002 then MLA Rajpora Syed Bashir announced that the area will get hospital facility soon.

“The work to construct the hospital did start soon after and it was completed in due time as well,” said Abdul Ahad a resident of Drabgam.

On usual days the hospital building, in shambles with broken doors and windowpanes, is used by ‘stray dogs’.

“Occasionally there is this one person who visits here during Pulse Polio Immunization,” locals rued.   \

The building has 30 rooms.

Chief Medical Officer D R Jaffer said that ‘there is a tussle between two villages over the building’.

“The issue has been brought in my notice already and we are going to raise this issue with the government,” Jaffer said.

Jaffer however added that a Medical sub-center is functional in the village to mitigate the health related issues.

“We will raise the issue of hospital in the yearly board meeting,” he added.
