Bijbehara: Injured cop succumbs after being fired upon, was his first day after transfer

Bijbehara May 15:  A policeman injured in a suspected militant attack in Pazalpora area of Bijbehara has succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Bilal Ahmad who was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment after being fired upon.

According to sources  Bilal was transferred to the district yesterday and it was his first day on after transfer.

“He was driver of the vehicle,” they said.

sources said that the cops were travelling from bijbehara to anantnag to buy matting however suspected militants fired upon them at Pazalpora Bijbehara.

While bilal recieved fire arm injury and sources say he died on the spot, Abdul Rashid recieved fire arm injury in Thigh and is being treated at the medical facility.
