Fiance ‘kills’ woman in North Kashmir

Baramulla: A month before her marriage, a woman was murdered in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The murderer, police said, has turned out to be her fiance.
The woman, Rifat Bano daughter of Bashir Ahmed of Gujar Patti Sangri, was in her 30s and was schedule to get married next month.
According to police, Rifat’s body was recovered from Mohra Uri on late Saturday evening. On May 11, Rifat had gone missing following which her family lodged a missing report with Police Station Baramulla. Police had filed a case (FIR No. 79/2108) U/S 366,109 RPC.
During the course of investigation, police said arrested Sajad Ahmed Bhatti son of Siraj-ddin Bhatti of Mohra Uri who “confessed” to have murdered Rifat with whom he was scheduled to tie nuptial knot.
