Srinagar: Massive rally is underway at Kashmir University while Pro freedom sloganeering reverberated in the campus on Wednesday, over killing of a professor Mohammad Rafi in a gunfight in Shopian on Sunday.

Rafi had gone missing and within 40 hrs he was among the holed up militants in Shopian were five militants including him were killed.

They had rejected police offer to surrender.

“Massive rally is going on in the campus,” eye witnesses told INS.

According to eyewitnesses Pro freedom, Pro Pakistan and Pro Hizbul Mujahideen sloganeering is going on and students are marching through out the campus.

“Students, boys and girls and some of the faculty members also participated in the march,” they said.

Rafi was contractual Assistant Professor at KU’s Sociology department.
