A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice Sanjeev Kumar passed the orders while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) pertaining to prevention of violation of the municipal laws and master plan for Katra city via video-conferencing.
The bench was apprised of the steps taken by the Municipal Council Katra in respect of solid waste management during the proceedings.
The court impressed upon the Katra Municipal Council to pursue the matter regarding solid waste management “in the right direction so that the Katra city is seen clean and eco-friendly.”
The bench also called upon Katra Development Authority “to make inspections and prevent un-authorized constructions in violation of municipal laws and Katra master plan.

The next hearing of the case was fixed for May 21, 2018.
