Government thwarts JRL presser, Malik arrested, Mirwaiz under house detention

Srinagar: Government on Saturday thwarted a presser by Joint Resistance leadership, by arresting Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik while Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest.

JRL had to hold a presser at a local hotel in the Sringar.

According to  JKLF spokesman a police party arrived at the Maisuma residence of Malik and arrested him. The spokesman claimed that he has been lodged in  Kothibagh police station.

Spokesman of Hurriyat (M) said the Mirwaiz was placed under detention at his Nigeen residence.
