Chattabal encounter: Journalists injured, hospitalized

Srinagar: Three photojournalists sustained injuries during clashes near SMHS hospital when the body of the slain civilian boy was taken to the hospital.

Reports said that three photojournalists identified as Farooq Javid, Javid Ahmed Dar and Umar Asif were injured during clashes between youth and government forces near SMHS hospital.

Soon after the body of civilian was brought to the SMHS hospital a large number of youth assembled and pelted government forces with stones resulting in injuries to three photojournalists.

However, the injured photojournalists were shifted to the hospital where their condition is said to be stable now.

Sources said that as the government forces tried to disperse them, they started pelting stones, triggering intense clashes between the two sides.

Meanwhile, clashes also erupted in Khanyar area of Srinagar against the killing of a civilian boy near the gunfight site in Chattabal area of Srinaga
