Srinagar: DGP SP Vaid on Monday confirmed the killing of top Hizbul Mujahideen militant Sameer ‘Tiger’ along with his associate in  Drabgam Pulwama, saying  “it should peace in  the area.”

“In Drabgam Pulwama encounter today morning in a joint operation two HeM (militants) killed including top commander Samir Tiger who was involved in number of civilian killings. It should bring peace in the area,” said the top police of the state in a tweet.

Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Sameer Tiger and Aqib Mushtaq, both belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter with government forces in Drubgam area of Pulwama district today.

A civilian too died, who succumbed to his injuries, in the protests that erupted in the area.
