Anantnag: The residents of Bangu Ashmuqam village today alleged that they face lot of problems due to acute shortage of water supply from past eight months.
The residents alleged that they held protest many times against the authorities in village for not providing drinking water. But the authorities no veil.
Miffed over the callous attitude of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, the villagers of Bangu Ashmuqam threat to administration to hit the streets if there problem will not be solve.
Talking to INS Farooq Ahmad resident of Bangu village told that we are being deprived of water facility and despite repeated requests neither the concerned department nor the administration bothered to sort our hardships.
We are forced to cover a distance of almost a kilometre to fetch drinking water from tube wells, Sometimes we use water from the ponds which puts our health at great risk. He added.
Our village is just two km’s away from famous martand temple where supplies water to about 30 villages but due to unknown reasons we have been left without potable water,” they said and demanded immediate restoration of the potable water supply to the area. Gani said
Meanwhile when contacted to the PHE Executive Engineer Bashir Ahmad Shah he didn’t receive our call.
