The 86-km-long historic Mughal road and the 300-km-long Kashmir, however, are through.

Heavy vehicles will continue to ply from one side only while two-way Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) is allowed from both Srinagar and Jammu on the highway, a traffic police official said.

Traffic remained suspended on 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh national highway for the fourth day today due to accumulation of snow and slippery road condition.

Fresh snowfall last week at Sonamarg, Zojila, Meenmarg and Drass, the second coldest place in the world after Siberia, forced authorities to suspend traffic, he said, adding that traffic remained suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent any accident.

Meanwhile, the Mughal road, connecting Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region, was through for only one-way.

Today traffic will ply from Bufliaz towards Shopian, he said.
