Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemned the brutal use of forces on the students including girls and children at Srinagar, Anantnag, Tral, Pulwama, Sopore, Baramulla Ganderbal and elsewhere both inside and outside the premises of their educational institutions in which dozens of students were grievously injured.
Tear gas shells, Pava shells and baton charge was carried out against students protesting the heinous crime against little Asifa of Kathua.
The Hurriyat Conference said using force against students protesting the crime instead of providing them space and opportunity to express their feelings and put up their demands as was normal elsewhere is extremely unfortunate and reflects the vengeful mindset of the authorities.
Meanwhile, the amalgam paid rich tributes to slain “freedom fighter” S Hameed on his 20th martyrdom anniversary stating that he was a man of conviction and principles who courageously stood against the forcible control on Kashmir throughout his life.
He said that Hameed’s contribution towards Kashmir’s freedom struggle will always be remembered and appreciated.
A delegation of APHC also visited the martyr’s graveyard Eidgah and offered special Fatiah prayers in favour of Shaheed Hameed.
