Kangan: Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district opened up again after remaining shut for two days over death of a youth was injured in government forces action on April 3 and breathed his last few days back at SKIMS.

District Administration Ganderbal has ordered to Degree College Kangan and Boys/Girls Higher Secondary school Kangan, closed as precautionary measures to avoid any law and order problem.

Amir Ahmad Lone 22, of Chuturgul Kangan was  injured in clashes with forces on April 3 in Kangan and breathed his last after two weeks at SKIMS.

Lone was the second youth to succumb to injuries in forces action, and before him Gowhar Ahmad Rather of Kangan, received firearm injuries on April 2 and succumbed on April 3 triggering protests in the town.

CM Mehbooba Mufti had visited Rather’s residence while people protested in the area.

Government had ordered a probe into Rather’s death and subsequently suspended one cop for being involved ‘prima facia’ in the Rather’s death.
