Tral: Baisakhi was celebrated across state with religious fervor on Saturday especially in South Kashmir.
Members of Sikh community, including women and children in colorful dresses, visited the Gurdwaras in valley, including summer capital Srinagar, North Kashmir’s Baramulla and South Kashmir’s Tral, Pulwama, Matan, Palpora, and Shadimarg areas.
They held special prayers for peace and tranquility of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and also for the minor raped and murdered in Kathua.
In the decorated gurdwaras, free langars were set up for the devotees as they thronged to join ‘Kirten’ in all the gurdwars.
Children took a day out in Tral and festivity was witnessed in areas including Kangloora, Chatrogam, Hafoo, Saimoh, Gadpora, Nanar and other areas to celebrate Baisakhi.
