Srinagar: Internet services in Anantnag and Shopian have been suspended along with rail services to and fro south Kashmir districts in wake of the encounters between militants and government forces in the twin districts.

Railway announced to suspend rail services in wake of the encounters amid apprehension about ‘law and order’ in Anantnag and Shopian districts, officials said.

A railway official said that train services from Srinagar to Banihal shall remain suspended while services from Srinagar to Baramulla will remain uninterrupted. Authorities also blocked internet in Anantnag and Shopian amid the gunfights.
